The 'Why'

I'm a writer. I have enough to keep me busy trying to get my own work finished. So why create a blogsite? It's simple. After hearing the stories of so many indie and small press writers who were looking for ways to be spotlighted and promoted, I decided I wanted to reach out to them and show support.

And I hear you. There are hundreds of blogs out there already doing this. Most of them have a lot more time than I have, so again... why? Because I love this business. As much as I complain about the deadlines, the stress, the ups and downs, the truth is, I enjoy discovering the work of others as much as I enjoy creating my own. As authors, we often gripe about the lack of support for Indie Authors. Then one day, I took a long look at myself and asked, 'What are YOU doing to support Indie Authors?' The answer was, 'practically nothing'. I'd written reviews, done some beta reads, bought a few eBooks, but I wondered if I could do more.

Maybe I can't, but this is me trying, in my own way to give something back to a community that I'm honored to be a part of. I don't expect it will be easy. I don't expect to be blogging away with a new update every hour. I do expect to do my own little part in my own little way. Hopefully, some good will come out of it. Maybe someone will sell a few more books, get a little more exposure or at the very least, they'll feel appreciated for all the hard work they put into bringing a part of themselves to the page.

To some, it may not seem like much, but for better or worse, that's my 'why'.
